5 Things to Say Goodbye to in the New Year

Wednesday, December 30, 2015

Get your party hats and noise makers ready, because it’s almost 2016! As entrepreneurs and Synergy Team Members, you are most likely noting your personal and team business goals at this very second in preparation for a fruitful New Year. For the best results, devise attainable goals and then create an action plan that makes you stick to those goals.

An estimated 24% of goal setters continue working toward their New Year’s resolutions for more than a few weeks. Be part of the group that conquers in 2016. Set yourself up to be successful by getting rid of these five things that are toxic to your business goals:

1. Clutter

As a Synergy distributor, chances are you work from home. Do you have stacks of forms and handouts on your desk and counters? Are your business materials scattered around your house? If your answer is “yes,” it’s time to tidy up! Research shows that clean, organized spaces prompt increased productivity. As you physically clean your workspace, you’ll find that your thinking space feels cleaner, too, and you’ll be able to execute tasks with greater efficiency.

2. Wasted Time

Nowadays, it’s almost too easy to let precious hours slip between your fingers thanks to the TV marathons of your favorite shows, the addictive games and limitless information contained within your smart devices, and the always beckoning social media sites. The digital world is a beautiful and dangerous thing. Make sure you’ve accomplished everything on your day’s to-do list, before rewarding yourself with an hour of mindlessly channel surfing and Facebook scrolling.

3. Negativity

The voices in your head have a powerful, yet subtle, influence on what you’re able to accomplish. If you tell yourself you cannot accomplish one of your goals, well, you’ve already failed. Surround yourself with positive people who believe in your abilities. Forgive yourself for making mistakes. If you have a disappointing week, look forward to the next week’s potential. As you make an effort to be optimistic every day, in every situation, people will gravitate toward you and your positive outlook will give you hope for the future.

4. Blame

Life would be too easy if your plans always went the way you wanted them to. The struggles you experience can help you develop a certain skillset that makes you valuable and unique. While facing trying situations, take responsibility for your mistakes and quickly correct them. Stay away from blaming certain individuals or circumstances that you believe contributed to difficulties. This will bring about a negative atmosphere that suffocates your business. Stop pointing the finger and start tactfully addressing the issues at hand to improve business performance.

5. Procrastination

New goals are hard to digest at first. They’re intimidating and can feel unattainable. With this attitude, you may feel like the safest thing to do is put it off until tomorrow. Before you know it, a month has passed and you haven’t moved a single step closer to your objective. This is the ultimate recipe for disaster. Begin working toward a goal by starting small. Plan your daily activities the night before and get to work soon after you wake up. By taking a few large or small steps in the right direction every day, you will eventually arrive at your desired destination.

Leave a Legacy through Charity

Monday, December 28, 2015

When Dan Higginson founded Synergy WorldWide in 1999, he had a clear vision of what this company would represent. He wanted the people who associated with Synergy to work from their hearts. He wanted to make a difference around the world and give others the opportunity to Leave a Legacy of health and financial freedom.

It’s the perfect time of year to consider how you can help others who are struggling. Many Team Members have considered how they can make a difference and have changed many lives through their actions. What can you do to Leave a Legacy of charity? Focus on what you can do. Small steps turn into miles. No act of charity is ever wasted.

If you are looking for a way to give back, consider donating to 5 Star Legacy Foundation, Synergy’s partner in charity that exists to alleviate the suffering of children, their families, and their communities by breaking the cycle of poverty through literacy, higher education scholarships, and self-reliance through entrepreneurism.

Stories from Team Members throughout Europe have proven that Dan’s vision has turned into a daily reality. Here are a few:

Dora Debeljak, Slovenia

Just in time for Christmas, Dora donated money through a local charity chapter founded by Team Directors Bostjan Pilej and Irena Kladivar, to deliver food, clothing, and hope to those who are struggling during the holiday season. Dora and other Slovenia Team Members raised €1500 to create 100 baskets for families in need. Because of these Team Members’ decision to donate, 33 families who would have gone hungry on Christmas Day will receive a special delivery that includes all of the makings for a beautiful Christmas dinner.

Mirva Martikainen, Finland

Mirva, a nurse and Synergy distributor of four years, experienced her most successful business year in 2015. To celebrate her and her team’s success with Synergy WorldWide, Mirva decided to donate something to a local children’s hospital. She obtained a list of items in various price categories that Finland’s children’s hospitals are in need of. She settled on purchasing an infusion rest chair for child cancer patients so that they can have comfortable place to relax while receiving treatments. As Mirva continues to build her business and find greater financial success, she plans to increase the size and frequency of her donations.

Paul, Kate, and Saxon Flint, United Kingdom

Synergy Team Members Paul and Kate are the full-time supporters of an ambitious, warmhearted, 9-year-old son named Saxon who has made it a hobby to raise money for the less fortunate. His most recent project is raising money to send 10 children to school in Mpongwe, Zambia. By raising just £1,200, these children will receive an education and one meal per day for a year. Saxon also raises money for charities by baking cookies, cakes, and more to sell in bake sales he organizes himself.

We are so touched by the acts of kindness, both big and small, displayed every day by Synergy Team Members. Continue improving lives one charitable act at a time, and you will find the greatest riches the world can offer.

Happy Holidays from Synergy WorldWide!

Elite Honours Spotlights

Monday, December 21, 2015

With the Elite Honours program in full swing, Team Members have been building stronger businesses through defined monthly goals.

In November, 349 Team Members in Europe became Elite Honours Qualified. That means at least 349 new distributors were enrolled and more than 1,000 customers latched onto Synergy products. Team Members who are becoming Elite Honours Qualified have found that the Elite Honours earnings model is exactly what their businesses were missing.

Congratulations to the many who are finding success through Elite Honours thus far! Here are a few insights from our newest Elite Honours Qualifiers regarding their success with Elite Honours:

Christine & Hansy Herrmann, Germany

“When we learned about Elite Honors, we were immediately impressed with the system. The first day of every month is the beginning of a new challenge. Our goal is to qualify every month. It is important to obtain this status not only for ourselves, but for our business partners. More members of our team are earning Elite Honors pins every month, and now we will work with our customer base and new business partners to help more earn the pin. We believe a great incentive combined with Elite Honors is the Go Elite bonus. With it, you manage to earn good money in a short time. We get so excited to see the bonuses on our payroll. We want everyone to have success with this great tool and build a long-term and stable Synergy business.”

Daniel & Barbara Krawcewicz, Germany

“Elite Honors and the Go Elite promotion encourages us to show our team the proper way to work. We, as leaders, always go for the promotions Synergy offers, whether it’s an event promotion or business building promotion. We challenge ourselves and our team to earn more through these opportunities. We always want to be a good example to our team. It strengthens the team to work together toward a common goal. Elite Honors has accelerated our revenue growth and every partner benefits. If we set a good example, then we help our Team Members build their businesses. Do not forget to show your partners what works for you, because they will follow your example.”

Cristina Cabañero & Luis Quesada, Spain

"Elite Honors has given us great joy in our business. We have been rewarded since Elite Honors was introduced in Rome and we have qualified every month. We’ve also earned two Go Elite bonuses, which means a significant increase in commissions! Elite Honors provides a professional way to work toward gaining customers, which are a very important part of the business. We want these customers to discover Synergy products’ powerful health benefits and believe in the company. We’ve found that distributors are earning more with fewer Team Members by putting an extra focus on adding customers to their networks. WE want to thank Synergy for introducing Elite Honors and Go Elite and we want this program to become part of the long-term business model. Through it we can Leave a Legacy of health and wealth.”

Synergy's Holiday Special!

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

James Booth, an Irish champion boxer of 17 years and a 20-year martial artist, has been invested in nutrition for decades. He discovered Synergy in 2010 and quickly found that the company’s commitment to quality nutrition paralleled his lifelong beliefs.  In November 2015, his Synergy business M.N.B. Group, achieved Synergy’s Team Director pin level.

It’s clear that no matter what James commits to, whether it’s a business venture or a sport, he knows how to execute. When he began martial arts training, he decided he wanted to be a black belt. When he enrolled as a Synergy distributor, he decided to become an executive leader. As a current Team Director, he is well on his way to this goal.

“If an old guy like me can hit this level, young people should be able to fly by me,” James said. “It doesn’t matter how much education you have, where you live or what ethnicity you are. If you have the desire and the commitment, you can make a success of this business.”

Many of the lessons James learned as a boxer have stuck with him ever since, and they’ve shaped who he is. He said that as a boxer he learned the importance of building a foundation. Athletes who are new to boxing don’t jump in the ring during their first week of training, expecting to win. Rather, this would put them in a degree of danger. This concept also applies to running a Synergy business. It may take a little while to build a foundation for the business, but once it’s established, the possibilities of success are endless.

Though James doesn’t get in the ring anymore, his focus on nutrition hasn’t changed. He believes society is governed by age, when, in reality, age means nothing. Those who tell themselves they are old will act old,  feel old, and eventually stop progressing in life, but James, on the other hand, plans to live until he’s at least 100. He remembers his father telling him that once a person stops dreaming, they’re dead.

Recently, James traveled to Synergy Headquarters with his business partner Dr. Anthony Oketah to tour the new Hughes Center for Research and Innovation, which he said “knocked them dead.” Both he and Dr. Oketah believe that Synergy is the future of health, and their visit to the Hughes Center confirmed it.

“My life has changed completely in the five years I’ve been with Synergy,” James said. “I get paid for the effort I put into my work. Network marketing is a lot like mining. Initially, you put a lot of work into digging every day to find what you’re looking for, but eventually, if you stick with it, you will strike gold.”

Congratulations November Go Elite Earners!

Monday, December 14, 2015

An elite group of  Synergy Team Members went beyond the call of duty in November by not only becoming Elite Honors Qualified, but training those they sponsor to become Elite Honors Qualified. By fulfilling the Elite Honors requirements and sponsoring requirements, these Team Members earned Go Elite bonuses based on the number of Elite Honors Qualifiers they sponsored. Click here to learn more about the Go Elite Promotion.

Synergy WorldWide paid out £16,779 in Go Elite bonuses in November. Amazing! We hope that this payout will continue to increase until the Go Elite promotion ends on February 29, 2015.

Challenge yourself to Go Elite this month!

Friday, December 11, 2015

There isn’t a better time than the festive season to meet with family, friends and acquaintances, and ask them what their 2015 brought them, what it didn't, and what their hopes and dreams are for 2016 and beyond! With this focus, December can be “the most wonderful time of the year” for your business as well. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with many distributors who have had huge success growing their businesses in December because they took the opportunity to listen to people.

Unfortunately, as leadership skills go, listening isn’t seen as one of the really dynamic ones. Listening is often viewed as a seemingly passive thing that could almost be misconstrued as being a weakness. Great leaders like Winston Churchill are usually notable because of the things they said and taught, not for their listening skills.

However, Churchill was renowned for his ability to sit down and listen to anyone and everyone, and his view on the importance of listening is evidenced by one quote from him: “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."

If you scramble the letters in “listen” you can also make the words “silent” and “enlist”. So I encourage all of you to “enlist” the art of remaining “silent” in order to “listen”. Really listen to what people are looking for in life. I promise you that such an approach has the power to dramatically improve your business. Keep these points in mind as you commit to listen and finish the year strong:

It’s a business, so don’t be tempted to take a month off

Keep your business “merry and bright,” by continuing to build through December. One of the keys to success is consistency, so though it may be tempting to take extra time off for cooking, baking, shopping, and entertainment, make sure you schedule plenty of time to keep building your business. Never put your business on hold; dinner parties, nights out, school plays and Nativities are all great places to grow your contact list. Your contact list is the lifeblood of your Synergy business and you need to add name to that list every day!

Give a life-changing gift this Christmas

As receipts for gifts, food, decorations, and travel pile up, many people feel the financial pressure and stress. There couldn’t be a better time to share Synergy’s powerful financial opportunity with families who are feeling the pinch. Many people every year are putting their Christmas gifts on credit cards. You have the ability to enable them next year to be paying for things with cash! At this time of giving, what better gift can you give than helping someone find financial freedom?

Thank you for all your hard work in building your business in 2015. It truly is my privilege to be working side by side with such dedicated Team Members throughout the UK and Ireland.

I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2016 brings you even closer to your hopes and dreams!

Go Elite 10 Earned in Slovenia and Norway

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Two more Team Members will receive a €1200 bonus with their monthly commissions! Bostjan and Irena Pilej (Team EBALI), Team Directors from Slovenia, and Reidun Lydersen Dalheim, a Pearl Executive from Norway,  are the first in their regions to achieve this tremendous goal.

To qualify for Go Elite 10, you must sponsor 10 Elite Honors qualifiers. Reidun surpassed this goal by sponsoring 11! Team EBALI and Reidun proved their teams’ strength through this achievement. Not only are they bringing in new customer and distributor volume, they are supporting their team to do the same. This duplication is the ticket to success with Synergy WorldWide, and through Elite Honors, the pathway to success is clear. Congratulations Team EBALI and Reidun on your great success!

Bostjan and Irena prepared their teams for Elite Honors before the program launched at Summit 2015 by explaining the new earnings model and stressing the importance of building a customer program.  With an educated team  and everything in place, Bostjan and Irena went into November shooting for Go Elite 10. November began with a strategic meeting where Bostjan and Irena mapped out how to achieve their goal and made sure their team was on the same page. They have been the drivers behind Slovenia’s Elite Honors growth from 15 qualifiers in September to 28 qualifiers in November.

“We are constantly telling our Team Members about Elite Honors and that’s the right way to build a stable business,” Irena said. “The Go Elite promotion is just the cherry on the cake. You have to make the monthly Elite Honors requirements habits. The habitual behaviors will lead you to success.”

Earning a Go Elite promotion requires offering daily support, which is why Bostjan and Irena spent many days traveling to a number of Slovenian cities. To Bostjan, support means reminding a Team Member of their dreams, helping them create impactful Synergy presentations, and scheduling individualized trainings with those who need a little extra help. Ultimately, Team EBALI’s great leadership and support made their Go Elite 10 achievement possible.

Reidun Lydersen Dalheim

When Reidun verbally committed to be the first Team Member in Norway to sponsor 10 Elite Honors qualifiers, there was no turning back.

Reidun has been a competitor her entire life. She loves sports—everything from skiing to car racing—and though she doesn’t brave the slopes or streets anymore, she still finds a way to let her competitive side shine. Synergy drives her to be competitive with herself, to push her limits. Luckily, roadtrips are one of Reidun’s favorite things, making it no problem for her to drive all over northern Norway to support distributors and share Synergy’s opportunities.

“I asked all the people I sponsor if they could do a job for me,” Reidun said. “I wrote up a plan for those who committed and then tracked their progress every day. You have to talk to a lot of people often to make your goals happen.”

In order to achieve Go Elite 10, Reidun said you must work with your heart and make others’ successes more important than your own. Reidun loves Synergy WorldWide and plans to work for the rest of her life. The €1200 she earned through Go Elite will be put toward her Christmas vacation to Thailand to see her son.

Instead, use these joyous encounters to highlight the company you represent while strengthening relationships with others. Here are a few creative ways to market your Synergy business while expressing thanks to your loyal Synergy customers.

You can also give samples as stocking stuffers. Get creative and tie a few samples together with a festive bow or gift them in a small holiday bag.

Host a holiday themed meeting

Get your team in the holiday spirit! Host a holiday themed meeting to get Team Members and customers in the holiday spirit. Give away Synergy product prizes to those who invite the most people to the party. Serve tasty recipes using SLMsmart for a festive Synergy touch.

Donate to charity

In honor of the giving season, invite your team to sign up for a charity fun run or participate in gift-giving drive. By teaming up together, you can embrace the camaraderie your team has spent the year building as well as exemplifying the “Leave a Legacy” principle through your donation or service. The recipients will greatly appreciate your service and new people will discover Synergy and its values.

Give customers something extra

Give a little bit more this season. Order extra Synergy branded merchandise to include as bonus gifts for customers as a thank you for their business. Choose from a wide variety of products including bracelets, pens, flash drives, planners, shaker bottles, and more. Shop the full range of merchandise by clicking here.

5 Ways to Prepare Your Immune System for Winter

Friday, December 04, 2015

There are many speculations as to why people seem to start sniffling and coughing more often as soon as the cold air sets in. One Yale University study announced in January 2015 that cold wintry air weakens the nose’s immune defenses, allowing the bacteria and viruses lurking in every corner to more easily creep into your body.

Prior to this study, many hypothesized that the increase in sickness had to do with more people staying indoors and sharing breathing space. While this theory might be partially true, it’s proven that cooler weather does have a crippling effect on immune systems. While there is no way to prevent winter from coming, there are ways to help the body fight against unwelcome intruders.

Load up on Vitamin C and D

While all vitamins play a role in health maintenance, Vitamin C and D are most notable for their ability to strengthen connective tissue in bones and attack the viruses themselves, both of which lead to fewer doctor visits in chilly months. Make sure to add citrus fruits to your daily diet for Vitamin C, and brave the cold to get some sunshine for a healthy dose of Vitamin D.

Cook with Herbs and Spices

Keep your spice rack stocked this winter. Studies show that garlic, ginger, black peppercorn, cayenne pepper, allspice, curry, and turmeric, all contain properties that strengthen immune defenses.

Maintain a Healthy Gut

The gastrointestinal tract houses a substantial part of the immune system. This being said, an important part of a strong immune system is strong digestive organs. A healthy diet and adequate sleep play a major role in a healthy gut, but probiotics, also known as “good bacteria,” are touted for supporting healthy gut function. Probiotics can be taken as a supplement, but are most commonly recognized as a component found in yogurt.

Eat, Drink, Sweat, Sleep, Repeat

Taking care of your immune system requires all of the same steps it takes to sustain total body wellness. Feed your body whole foods, choose water over soda, exercise moderately a few times per week, sleep 7-8 hours per night, and make each of these healthy choices habits.

Don’t stress!

Unfortunately, no one is immune to stress. However, the most dangerous type of stress that affects your body’s systems is chronic stress, or stress that results in high levels of the hormone cortisol. This stress hormone has a weakening effect on the immune system and can really put a damper on your winter plans. So remember to relax, don’t sweat the small stuff, and enjoy a flu-free, cold-free winter.

IRONMAN Competitor Triumphs with Synergy Products

Wednesday, December 02, 2015 ,

On a surprisingly cold and windy day in Tempe, Ariz., 51-year-old Synergy Team Member Xavier Marin plunged into Tempe Town Lake with hundreds of elite athletes to compete in his first IRONMAN triathlon in 10 years.

“The start of the swim is crazy for everyone,” Xavier said. “There is so much anxiety, so much energy. People are grabbing each other. When I finished the swim I couldn't wait to get on my bike. I felt strong when I was biking and steady when I was running.”

Thirteen hours and 11 minutes after he took off from the starting line, Xavier triumphantly crossed the IRONMAN Arizona finish line, which means he swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles, and ran 26.2 miles. Racers aren’t allowed any outside support, including headphones, which makes completing an IRONMAN both a mental and physical fete., The 6 ½ pounds Xavier lost on race day proves it.

Despite the sleet and rain, Xavier was able to keep the pace he maintained in the half Ironman he completed a few months before. He was even able to shave two hours off of his best time, proving that optimal health is attainable at any age. As a public speaker, life coach, general contractor, and father of two, Xavier knows how to take action to bring a vision to life.

“It was a year ago that I committed myself to be in my best shape of my life,” Xavier said. “I’ve been in great shape in the past, but I wasn’t into nutrition. I trained through the year with SLMsmart Meal Replacement, the V3 System, and e9.”

In his late 40s, Xavier said he was slower than he had ever been and figured old age was beginning to set in. When Xavier began taking Synergy products, he discovered improved endurance, the energy to push his body to go faster, and a timely recovery after training, which led him to believe that he was missing key nutritional elements in earlier training.

It was high priority that Xavier packed e9 and ProArgi-9+ for race day. He took ProArgi-9+ and e9 before the race and then every three hours throughout the 13-hour stint.

“The body is an amazing thing,” Xavier said, “you just have to take care of it. Mentally, people start telling themselves they are getting older. Before the race, people were asking, ‘Are you sure you can get this done?’ And I told them there is no way I’m not going to get it done.”

Xavier will add his Ironman victory to the many stories he uses to inspire others to take action on the things they want out of life.

“These products provide real benefits to professional and recreational athletes," Xavier said. "If you are an athlete that wants a cutting edge, Synergy products will help you sustain your energy levels, endure, and recover.”
